The artifex - in the original imageination - is bigger then
8x10 inch size, it is reserved standard name for the Ultra Large Format camera's. Last years several cameras were made with this name where the ultra large format is not a typical notation. The meaning of artifex: master, artist.
Of course this name is not a classification of the camera
maker and user. Even more it refer to a correlation or commitment to the Ultra Large Format Photography and
it symbolize the knowledge and experience too what during the building of these large format cameras we collected.
This is how the family of the noncollapsable argentum cameras came to existence: the artifex nf and the artifex nfz. The same type name is usable for the cameras used
by the wet plate collodium processes.

The specifications: it is simple construction still very massive, non-foldable camera body with small size and small weight for the easy usage and the lower price. This camera is in the first instance ideal for landscapes with normal and wide lenses.
