| 4x5" Type explorator III. is a result of persistent development, many-many experimentations and modeling, which comes from the practice of many years in camera manufacturing and usage of large format cameras. We created a camera, which apart from the classical features will give the photographer numerous innovative and customized solutions. One of the most important features of field cameras is being foldable and easily portable. The manufacturers have insisted on making the cameras, when being folded, square shaped, closed like a box. This demand in many cases causes an inferior usability. We, following our own roadmap, developed a new system, which increases the capabilities of the camera. It is easy to understand that the more and bigger the movements are on a camera, the less its stability will be. Explorator III. has the solution to this problem. |

The entire extension range is usable without changing the bellows. Focus is set very precisely by means of a rack. Using a second bellows the maximum distance between the film plane and the front is 440 mm. When setting the minimum extension, the focus distance is 75 mm, however a base tilt of the consol used to fix rear, and then setting rear in a vertical position, a 65 mm lens is also usable without having to move the front. At the bottom of the camera there are two 1/4" tripod connections, so the camera's center of gravity can be adjusted to the extension applied. |

All the movements of the camera's front and rear are independent from each other. This means that both front and rear rises, falls, and shifts without altering the angle of tilt along by the vertical or horizontal axis that was set before. The axis of such a tilt will remain in the center axis of rear and front, when rising falling or shifting rear and front (symmetrical movements). |
